While designing the experience for the upcoming Unlockthecity blackhistorymonth game, I happened upon this rundown hotel that was once the hideout for Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassin.
Something very exciting is happening this week. Business trips and local research. On the event horizon are a series of #Unlockthecity games we're designing for #blackhistorymonth in February. What you see here is the legendary concert space El Mocambo. Though gifted performers like #MuddyWaters, #theRollingStones and #U2 played here, the building was once a sanctuary for escaped slaves who traveled on the Underground Railroad in the 1800's.
